Carrie Hawkins Leadership Scholarship

The Carrie Hawkins Leadership Scholarship ($500) is awarded for the exceptional leadership of one senior. The namesake of this award was a teacher in the Starkville School district for over 30 years. The award is a $500 gift to a graduate who has displayed exceptional leadership in the school and community in both academics and non-academic school activities. The application should include: (1) a resume, (2) three (3) signed recommendation letters (at least one of which must be from a high school teacher), and (3) a 225-300 word maximum essay written by the applicant to include the following information:

• Description of leadership in non-academic school activities
• Description of leadership in academic school activities
• Description of leadership in the community
• Goals to be achieved as a result of receiving this scholarship
• Impact this scholarship will have on your future educational pursuits
