The Starkville Foundation for Public Education (SFPE) was chartered in December 1989 to enhance public education in Starkville. Twenty founding SFPE members focused their initial efforts on raising funds for innovative school projects that encouraged student creativity and inspirational teaching.
In 1990, SFPE started a grants program to fund exceptional projects proposed by teachers, administrators, and staff. The Grants Program has become one of our primary points of pride. To date, this competitive process has invested over $135,000 in our most motivated and talented educators.
To honor stand out classroom grant projects, SFPE selects one grant for the annual Larry Box Teacher Grant Award in honor of former superintendent Dr. Larry Box.

The purpose of the Scholarship Fund is to award scholarships to graduating seniors at Starkville High School who wish to continue their education at a four-year college/university, community college, or vocational/technical training school. Our scholarships are independently endowed.
