We recognize that quality education depends on consistent financial investment. SFPE grants allow teachers and schools to reach beyond the available district, state and federal funding. Classroom teachers have been able to purchase new equipment, curriculum enrichment materials, as well as participated in off-campus events that have inspired and challenged our students.

  • fund up to $1,750
  • to enhance the educational experience
  • Starkville School District

Classroom Grants

  • fund up to $750
  • for innovative and imaginative teaching which will directly benefit students in the classroom
  • Starkville School District

Go Play Outdoor Curriculum (GPOC) Grants

  • fund up to $250
  • for support activities, materials, and resources
  • must integrate the Mississippi Framework Objectives with educational opportunities outside
  • Starkville School District

Gaining Ground Environmental Grants

  • fund up to $500
  • for support activities, fieldtrips, speakers, and resources
  • must enrich required science curriculum and highlight the importance of environmental awareness and stewardship
  • Starkville School District

MSU CVM Nestle-Purina Human-Animal Bond Grants

  • fund up to $250
  • for activities, fieldtrips, speakers, and resources
  • must encourage educational opportunities regarding animals in society
  • Examples: responsible pet ownership; bite prevention; wildlife conservation; zoos & aquariums; service animals; farm to plate–where does our food come from? introduction to Veterinary Medicine; animals in entertainment

Larry Box Award

Each year an exceptional grant is selected to be designated the recipient of the Larry Box Award in honor of former superintendent Dr. Larry Box.
